Healthcare News: AHIMA adds physician offices to models for ICD-10 implementation

Physician practices can now access another online tool to help prepare for the upcoming transition to ICD-10-CM/PCS. The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) added a model for physician practices to go with models for health plans, healthcare provider organizations, and academic institutions.
The model for physician practices differs from the other models AHIMA offers in that it is based on the processes performed in a physician office. The models for health plans, healthcare provider organizations, and academic institutions are organized by role.
All of the models identify key tasks or milestones that organizations must complete within specific time frames.
