Lingual frenectomy diagram
Use this diagram to visualize the excision of the lingual frenum (CPT code 41115), a procedure also known as a lingual frenectomy. The procedure, which is performed to treat ankyloglossia, entails removing the flap of tissue that holds the tongue to the floor of the mouth to allow the tongue to have a greater range of motion.
